Anthony Cole

Anthony’s legal practice focuses on insurance coverage issues and disputes, contract and policy drafting, insurance regulatory issues, and privacy law. He also acts as litigation counsel in the areas of professional errors and omissions (including engineers, real estate agents, financial services professionals, and insurance brokers), directors’ and officers’ liability, defamation, construction disputes, and contract disputes. Additionally, he has worked in the intellectual property field, litigating matters involving trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Anthony has appeared on motions, trials, and appeals before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Canada.

Anthony was recently elected National Secretary of the Canadian Bar Association’s Insurance Law Section. He obtained his Math and English honours degree from Trent University in 1996, and graduated with the highest academic standing in the university, winning the Governor-General’s Award. He was awarded a scholarship from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and graduated as a Juris Doctor in 1999.

Anthony has published papers in the Canadian Litigation Counsellor and the International Law Office Newsletter, and delivered numerous seminars for clients and fellow professionals on a variety of legal topics.
